TIPS & NOTES
This little word tipo – pronounced like ‘cheapu’ – is used when you cannot think of a good word to use, or what to say next. It can be very useful, but is sometimes overused, especially by young people.

You can also use the word assim meaning ‘like’ in the same way or even both words together, just like in English – tipo assim – meaning ‘sort of like’.
- Ela ficou tipo assim, calada a noite toda.
- She just stayed sort of like, quiet all night.

Nice job and as I’m a begginer it’s very good and necessary spaces like that to learn and improve my english.Can you give me some tips to try conversation without chat with native english speakers? I know that is too much important keep practicing but, for example, I hate study grammar, so is there options?

Olá Ulisses, a palavra “Kind of” pode ser usada como “mais ou menos”? Ela pode ser escrita tbem dessa forma: “Kindda” ? Abraços
Eu percebo que, assim como o “tipo assim”, um vício que se tem no inglês, muito usado quando não sabemos o que dizer é o famoso “you know”, que é quase um ponto final pras frases de alguns nativos.

Obrigado pelo comentário e pelo interesse no Tecla SAP. São várias palavras e expressões que se enquadram nessa categoria: you know, like, kind of, sort of, sabe, entende?, tá ligado?, ok, tipo, tipo assim etc. O uso excessivo dessas muletas linguísticas deve ser evitado sempre que possível, tanto em nosso idioma quanto na língua inglesa.
