TO FUCK (taboo)
To have sex with somebody.

Fuck is a swear word that many people find very offensive. It can be used to express extreme anger or surprise or to add force to what you are saying.

• Oh, fuck (it)! We’ve missed the plane.
• Fuck (me)! That’s amazing!
• What the fuck are you doing?

In some phrasal verbs the word mess can be used to substitute the word fuck. This is a much more polite way of expressing the same idea.

TO FUCK AROUND / TO MESS AROUND
To waste time by behaving in a silly way or doing unimportant things.

• Stop fucking around and let’s go.

TO FUCK (SOMETHING) UP / TO MESS (SOMETHING) UP
To do something badly or to make a bad mistake.

• I completely fucked up the interview.
• You’ve really fucked up this time!

TO FUCK SOMEBODY UP / TO MESS SOMEBODY UP
To upset or harm somebody so much that they are not able to deal with problems in their life.

• His parents’ divorce really fucked him up.

TO FUCK WITH SOMEBODY / TO MESS WITH SOMEBODY
To treat somebody badly in a way that makes them annoyed.

• Don’t fuck with me!
