Keeping the Beat
I was in a bar yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to fart.
The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat so that nobody would hear them.
After a couple of songs, I started to feel better.
I finished my beer and noticed that everybody was staring at me.
Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.
Cf. “BAR” é falso cognato?

Hello, everyone,
“keep the beat (or beating)” has a lot of meanings. For example:
“keep doing it at the same rhythm”, “keep the pace”, “keep fighting”, “keep working”. In a exame: “keep your mind rentless”. In fact, it depends upon the context. Generally, means: “don’t give up”, “don’t fall back”, “don’t surrender”.
